What You Do:

TAXervice and their team of professionals have been a lifesaver to me, as an administrator. They have freed up time that needs to be spent every year on tax enforcement. Our neighbouring RM recommended TAXervice to us, and soon after our Council was on board. Coming from a place where everyone knows everyone, having TAXervice deal with our tax enforcement properties shows the owners that the RM means business! TAXervice has helped our RM recover some very old outstanding arrears.
The RM of Springfield started using TAXervice in 2013 in order to reduce the amount of staff time required in the tax sale process. We were not disappointed. TAXervice handles every step of the process for us and at no cost to the municipality. We have a great working relationship with TAXervice staff and are thankful for the expertise and professional service they provide, making it a smooth process for both the municipality and the residents. Hiring TAXervice was the best decision we have made and would recommend them to any municipality not already using them — trust us, the only regret you will have is you didn’t hire them sooner!
Our municipality recently faced the daunting task of tax recovery. We chose to select TAXervice to assist us with the process. What a brilliant choice! TAXervice offered personal support and guidance as well as "one stop" shopping for the complete process, beginning to end, thereby allowing staff the freedom to take care of the day to day business of running the municipality. TAXervice eliminated the stress of dealing directly with the property owner and ensured the many technical requirements were met on time and done correctly.
There is no cost to the municipality. Instead the cost of our services is paid by those ratepayers in arrears. The costs incurred, including our fees, are charged against the roll number subject to tax enforcement.
Our fee is a fixed amount rather than a percentage fee that could become unreasonable. Our total fee (excluding disbursements) is $495 per roll number.
We do not ask our clients to sign multi-year contracts. Our service can be terminated at any time if you're not satisfied.
How Our Fees Work
Generally, there is no cost to the municipality. Instead the cost of our service is paid by those ratepayers in arrears. All costs incurred, including disbursements, taxes, and our fees are charged against the roll number subject to tax enforcement. The vast majority of properties are redeemed by the owner or mortgage holder. Our experience has shown that delinquent ratepayers respond when municipalities bring in a third party to assist with tax arrears recovery, causing property taxes to be paid sooner in the tax recovery process. Those properties that are not redeemed are sold at auction or ultimately sold by the municipality after taking title and your costs are thereby recovered. Only if the property can not be sold would the municipality bear the cost of our fees and then only for that particular unsellable property.
